Bomb hoax in two schools
Tension prevailed at S Niketan school in Viveknagar on Monday after the principal received a call that a bomb has been planted in the campus. Police rushed to the school with bomb detection and sniffer dogs. They thoroughly checked the premises and found the call a hoax.
Later, the classes continued as usual.
In a similar incident, an unknown person called SNVK school from a coin booth near a clinic in Banashankari police limits around 9.15 am and said a bomb has been planted inside a prayer hall, adjacent to the school. He also said it would explode anytime.
The faculty members immediately contacted the police. After a thorough search, it was found to be a hoax call.
Two commit suicide
Two persons committed suicides in separate incidents in the City on Sunday.
A man committed suicide by consuming poison at his Bhumika Layout residence, in Rajarajeshwarinagar police station limits.
He has been identified as Chandran (49), a BMTC conductor. He was said to be a drug addict. It is not known why he took this step.
In another incident, a man hanged himself at his residence in Chandra Layout police station limits. He has been identified as Aditya Reddy (35). He would often have fights with his wife. The reason for suicide is not known.
