It is necessary to encourage budding talents through organising cultural programmes.
Nowadays many meaningless programmes and competitions are organised. It is the responsibility of elders to lay the foundation stone for a healthy society through introducing culture to children, said Karnataka Bank Chairman Ananthakrishna.
He was speaking after releasing the emblem of Kudla Kalavali-Kalamela on Monday. Kalavali Chief Co-ordinator N S Pattar said the mega Kudla Kalavali-Kalamela will be organised at Kadri Park on November 24 and 25.
The Kalamela is being organised to face the challenges thrown before people in various walks of life in the globalised era.
Moreover, the event also aims at introducing modern art to common man, to enable a get-together for artistes and evoke discussions on art and inculcate interest in art among children through organising drawing competitions.
Over 250 artists will participate and over 700 competitions will be organised during the event for which over 200 stalls are being set up.
The programmes include painting exhibition, photography exhibition, craft exhibition, traditional drawing exhibition, drawing competition for primary and high school students, landscape painting, mural painting and sculpture exhibition, collage work, portrait painting and installation art exhibition, he added.
