The process of filing nominations for the local body elections to be held on September 28, has commenced on Monday. As per the instruction of the State Election Commission, the nominations can be submitted till September 17.

The DK Deputy Commissioner, who is also the district Election Officer, has stated in a release that the nominations can be submitted to the specified election officers in the presence of specified assistant election officers at specified centres. Following are the details:

MCC
Nominations for wards 1-5 can be submitted at MCC sub-office at Surathkal; wards 6-10: Special Land Acquisition Officer, Baikampady; wards 11-15: Deputy Director and Land Records Technical Assistant’s office, DC’s office complex; wards 16-20: office of Fisheries Assistant Director, ZP building; wards 21-25: office of the Deputy Director of Co-operative Societies’ Auditing; wards 26-30: Accounts Officer II, ZP building; wards 31-35: Assistant Controller, Local Auditing Circle, Urwa Market; wards 36-40: MUDA office; wards 41-45: Deputy Director of Horticulture; 46-50: Deputy Director of Mines and Geology, MCC building; 51-55: District Employment Exchange Officer; 56-60: Youth Affairs and Sports Officer, Mangala Stadium.

Other local bodies
Nominations for various wards of Moodabidri, Ullal, Bantwal and Puttur Municipal Councils, can be submitted at the respective municipal council offices with the presence of the specified election officers.

Nominations for wards under Belthangady Town Panchayat can be submitted at the Town Panchayat office while nominations for Sullia Town Panchayat can be submitted at the taluk office.
