A mega convention is being held against the Chamalapura Thermal plant in Mysore on September 12.
Speaking at a press conference in Mysore on Monday, H Govindaiah and Muddukrishna of the organisation said that litterateur U R Anathamurthy, Gowri Lankesh, Seetharam Iyangar, Sreenivas Raju, Devanuru Mahadeva, Siddaramaiah, Srikantadatta Wadiyar M Shivanna and H Vishwanath among others are expected to take part in the convention. It will be held at the Town Hall at 11 am.
“The convention is being held to sensitise Mysoreans of the harm that the Chamalapura thermal plant could do to the people and animals in the region,” they added.
A slideshow held on the occasion by MAN Manu looked at the damages a thermal plant could do in the name of development.
