Heavy rainfall which lashed Tarikere on Sunday evening threw the normal life out of gear. A compound wall of a government hospital near Town Municipality Council has been damaged. Rainwater has entered a commercial complex near Salumaradamma Temple and many of the items have been destroyed.
Speaking to Deccan Herald, a shopkeeper said “the drainage facility in this part of the town is unscientific. There is no scope for the free flow of rain water. As a result, the entire water enters the shops. Moreover, the authorities do not undertake cleaning of the drainage.”
Water clogged roads near KSRTC bus stand, M G Road, Kodicamp were common sight.
