Free books and bags were distributed to schoolchildren at the Pattanayakanahalli Gurugunda Brahmeshwara Mautt under the aegis of Rahul Gandhi Rural Development Institute.
Sri Nanjavadhoota Swamiji, who distributed the books to students lauded the efforts of Rahul Gandhi Institute in the field of education.
India is still a developing country and proverty is still a reality for a lot for people here.
Many students therefore face humiliation in schools for not being able to afford to buy text books and notebooks. Rahul Gandhi Institute has been distributing books to schoolchildren for the last one-and-a-half years and this is highly commendable as it not only helps children to realise their dreams and educates them but also ensures that they are given the same social standing among the other students, he opined.
The programme was held under the supervision of C R Umesh of the Institution. He spoke on the future programmes of the Institute. Kotti Ashok, Doddahulikunte Manjunath, K P Manjunath, C M Prakash Gowda, Ragalahalli Nagaraju, Kantaraju, Vasant Kumar and Shivanand were present.
