The JD (S) is ready to face mid-term poll in State, if such a situation arises, the party State President Merajuddin Patel said on Monday.
Speaking to reporters at the State-level Christian leaders’ meeting organised by Karnataka Christian Federation in Bangalore, he said, people of the State are satisfied with the good work done by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy during the last 19 months. “Hence, mid-term poll will not affect the prospect of JD (S),” he noted.
On transfer of power to BJP, he said, things will become clear only after the party supremo H D Deve Gowda meets the national leaders of BJP. “Mr Gowda will place a few conditions before them. The outcome of the meeting is crucial,” he stated.
Reiterating that the party is committed to protect the interests of minorities, he extended his support to the demand that dalit christians be treated as dalits.
