The high growth in services and manufacturing sectors seems to be reflecting in the expenditure of the urban population, which is spending nearly double the amount on an average compared to the rural folks.
The per capita monthly expenditure of people living in urban areas was Rs 1,052.36 a month as against Rs 558.78 of those in rural areas, according to the findings of 61st National Sample Survey Organisation( NSSO) Survey released on Friday.
