A realtor was hacked to death by two miscreants on Hesaraghatta Road at Nelamangala on Thursday night.
According to the police, S Puttasampaiah (56) was a Congress leader and the District Kurubara Sangha Vice-President. He was also a trustee of Bhaktanapalya School.
Puttasampaiah was travelling in his car along with his friend, identified as Srinivasaraju Shetty when two persons followed him in two vans, blocked their way, dragged Puttasampaiah out and attacked him with lethal weapons.
Both Puttasampaiah and Shetty were shifted to a private hospital, but the former succumbed to injuries.
Soladevanahalli police arrested two persons - Ramachandra (24) and Mahalingu (24), both residents of Srirampura - who are allegedly involved in the murder. Three others - Ravi, Chandra and Satish - are stated to be absconding. Lethal weapons used in the attack have been seized. Senior police officials visited the spot.
