Films on Gandhiji
The Films Division and Karnataka Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi are organising a four-day film festival on Mahatma Gandhi from September 3 to 6 at 10:30 am at Gandhi Bhavan, Kumara Park East. The following films will be screened: Spirit of nationalism (22 minutes), Then came Gandhi (21 min), Jallianwalla Bagh (19 min), Non cooperation movement (19 min), The great salt march (21 min) and India wins freedom (22 min).
Spiritual conference
Mangalsnan and abhishek of Ananth Koti Brahmandnayak Rajdhiraj Yogiraj Parabrama Sri Sachidananda Satguru by ‘Sri Sai Nath Maharaj’ at RBANMS grounds near Ulsoor lake on 2nd september . It will be conducted by the priests of Sai Mandir, Shirdi.
This rare event is similar to the Mangal Snan at Shirdi Mandir for the sai devotees. They have an option of participating in the mangalnan and abhishek and the kalashyatra for the 1,008 Shirdi murtis. All the puja materials including Sai Baba’s idol, copper thali and kalash will be provided.
The programme schedule is as follows: 5 am: 1,008 mangalsnan and abishek at the Shirdi mandir; 11 a m onwards: inauguration of the conference by Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, conference and talk on Sai Satcharita and Sai teaching by leading religious leaders, bhajans and quawallis; 4 pm: Minister of State for Small Scale Industies will inaugurate the yatra. The grand palaki and kalash yatra will be accompanied by various sai mandals in the City; 7 pm : bhanjan sandhya of sai bhajans and quawallis by renowed singers from Delhi, the Bandhu Das Hanumanth Inamdar, trustee of Shradi Sai Sansthan is the chief guest.
Sai Baba’s langar will be served to all devotees on Sunday .
Creative writing classes
The Kiara Activity Centre, Indiranagar, is starting Creative Writing classes for children between the ages of 8 and 12, and also for adults during September. The resource person has extensive experience as a teacher of English Literature and also published a number of articles, and scripted and directed a number of audio-visual presentations.
The Centre’s second round of Creative and Personality Development Workshops will also be held for children between the age of 5 and 12 years. The workshops commence on September 18, and will include activities such as art and craft, cookery, gardening, western dance, quiz, speaking skills, team building and value education.
