Pooja Bhatt got it right, finally. After two disasters called Paap and Holiday, Ms Bhatt has managed to give us a beautiful Dhokha.
Terrorism is the topic and human bombs call the shots. The movie sensitively handles the community angle, and shows how an Ahmed or Ali automatically pops up on the police radar everytime there is a blast. The film also tries to explain the ‘why’ behind the suicide bombing.
Written by Mahesh Bhatt, Dhokha warns that there might be a terrorist waiting to explode in your office or even at home. After all, despite being an ACP, the hero (debutante Muzamil) had to wait till the interval to find out that his wife (Tulip) was a terrorist.
Dhokha has a message and conveys it in the simplest of ways. Tulip Joshi is confined to the “past” and makes special appearances in Muzamil’s memories. Still she makes an impact with unspoken lines. Muzamil has given a good shot for a newcomer. A thought-provoking movie in these times torn by terrorism.
