Anti-bomb disposal squad and sniffer dogs were today pressed into extensive search operations in Vidhana Soudha, the Karnataka Government secretariat, here following a bomb scare, which later proved to be a hoax.
A man identifying himself as Rajesh, called up Madiwala police station in the morning and informed that one Yogesh had planted a bomb that would explode in an hour, police said.
Police immediately searched the three-storey granite building, which has been insultated with tight security cover and declared the call as hoax.Efforts were on to trace the caller, police said.
In the wake of alert that Vidhana Soudha is under terror radar, police have installed surveillance cameras atop the building which would scan the area around a radius of about two kilometres.
Police have also installed bunkers and metal detectors at all entry points. Vehicles and vistors are being subjected to thorough checks.
