Three bomb scares in City
Bangalore, DHNS:
Miscreants continued to trouble citizens and the police by making bomb alert calls.

Miscreants continued to trouble citizens and the police by making bomb alert calls. Two persons made such calls on Tuesday. However, they turned out to be a hoax.

A youth, who introduced himself as Rajesh, a student of Reddy Institute in Koramangala, called the Madivala police station saying a bomb had been planted in Vidhana Soudha. He said Yogesh, who had joined a terrorist outfit, wanted to carry out a large-scale attack in Bangalore and had chosen Vidhana Soudha as his first target, Rajesh said.

Police rushed to Vidhana Soudha along with a bomb squad. They checked the premises and found the call was a hoax.

Thorough probe
In another incident, a woman called the police control room and said a bomb had been planted at MEC School in Gandhinagar, in Yelahanka police station limits. Police conducted a thorough search and found the call was a hoax.

Sumana Nayak, a faculty member, told the police a woman met her at the school and inquired about the number of students and teaching staff. The woman said she was seeking admission for one of her relatives.

In another incident, a man called the police control room around 7.45 pm saying a bomb had been planted at Inox Multiplex in Garuda Mall. Police rushed to the spot, checked all the five theatres and found the call was a hoax.

“Police cannot take bomb alert calls lightly. Ninteen out of 20 calls may turn out be hoax. However, if one alert turns out to be real and the police neglect it, consequences would be disastrous,” a senior police officer said.
