Hotel brawl: 2 to be grilled
Cubbon Park police on Tuesday secured two persons for questioning in connection with the ransacking of Hotel Empire.
“We have secured two persons two persons for questioning. They are close friends of the accused. The two were not present when the incident took place. We are also analysing video footages. We will trace the accused soon,” DCP (central) B N S Reddy said.
Additional Commissioner of Police (law & order) Bipin Gopalkrishna told reporters the management had secured BBMP permission to run the hotel up to 1.30 pm.
2 fined for power theft
The Bescom vigilance squad, Rajajinagar cell, unearthed two cases of power theft and imposed a fine of Rs 23,44,472. Officials raided a factory owned by Anand Muniyappa, a resident of Horamavu Agara, and unearthed the theft. He was fined Rs 5,85,375.
The squad raided another factory, owned by Veeraswamy, a resident of Horamavu Agara, and unearthed the theft. He was fined Rs 17,59,097.
BBMP clears illegal buildings
The BBMP staff on Tuesday cleared unauthorised constructions on 12,600 sq m land in Bytarayanapura. They also removed 200 nameboards and 46 banners. It slapped a fine of Rs 28,000 for putting up advertisement materials illegally in the Palike area.
