Home Guards’ mock drill
State Home Guards and Fire Force jointly conducted a mock drill on how the public should respond to fire and threat calls at BBMP head office on Tuesday.

Home Guards and Fire Force staff simulated tense situations and explained to BBMP staff how one should act during such situations. BBMP Commissioner Dr S Subramanya took part.


Rotary volunteer to Semaji
Dr Prithvi Raval, a dental surgeon and prosthodontist, will be serving as a Rotary International Dental Volunteer from September 13 to October 13.

This programme is supported by Rotary Foundation and the Rotary club of Bangalore. He will be serving in Rio Ducle area at Semaji.

The team will drive to remote parts of the country to reach out to the descendants of the Maya Indian tribal people and also local populations. Dental treatment camps will be conducted at local churches, schools and medical outposts.

No power supply
There will be no power supply on September 12 from 10 am to 5 pm in the following areas: Domlur Village, MIG Flats, BDA Quarters, Domlur 2nd Stage Service Road, Domlur 2nd Stage 13th Main, part of HAL 2nd Stage and surrounding areas.

Dak adalat on Sept 28
Dak Adalat will be held at the Office of the Chief Postmaster, 1st Floor, GPO building, Bangalore 560 001 at 11 am on September 28.

The customers residing in GPO delivery jurisdiction and availing facilities including Savings Bank at Bangalore GPO can send grievances and suggestions to Chief Postmaster, Bangalore GPO on or before September 25.
Aggrieved members can attend the adalat in person.

Water adalat today
BWSSB Water Adalat of Central-2 subdivision to settle disputes connected to water billing, delay in giving water supply and sanitary connection, delay in conversion from non-domestic to domestic connection and other related disputes is being held on Wednesday, September 12 from 9 am to 11 am in the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer of Central-2 subdivision at High Grounds. The executive engineer of central division will conduct this adalat. Call 22945187 and 22945191.

Anniversary celebrated
City-based Aravind Kalavrinda celebrated its 23rd anniversary by striking a musical note in Bangalore on Monday.
 It had hosted `Sugama Sangeeta Mahotsava’ - a light music fest - in which 17 popular artists entertained the gathering.

Musician Shyamala G Bhave, music director V Manohar and litterateur M N Vyasa Rao were felicitated on the occasion.
