The High Court sought an affidavit from the Urban Development (UD) department Secretary, explaining the issuance of corrigenda to the reservation lists of Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, Chikkaballapura CMC and Gadag-Betageri TMC.

Following three petitions challenging the corrigenda issued, on Sept 3, as to the reservations notified earlier on July 30, for the municipal bodies, Justice BS Patil sought to know the reason for such changes in the eleventh hour. The judge directed the Secretary to file an explanatory affidavit along with relevant documents, in this regard by Wednesday
