Rain wreaks havoc in City
Bangalore, DHNS:
Several areas in the City, especially the low-lying areas, were inundated following heavy rains on Wednesday night.

Rainwater flooded Gowdanapalya area in J P Nagar, clogging narrow lanes and giving residents a harrowing time.

The BMP control room was flooded with panic calls from residents. A huge tree was uprooted near HKES College in Sadashivanagar blocking the road. Officials were deployed to clear the road. Another tree came down in Jayanagar 5th Block.

Traffic was choked near Silk Board junction, Hosur Road, Airport Road, Shivajinagar, Seshadripuram, Malleswaram, City Market and the Subhashnagar bus stand.

Many vehicles were submerged in rainwater near Kumara Park railway over bridge.

Sunitha, a KAS officer working for State accounts department, called the Deccan Herald office and requested that the BMP officials be asked to deploy officials to clear rainwater in front of her house near Sarakki Kere.

According to M R Srinivas, a retired BSNL engineer, Sahakarnagar, due to the incomplete works on the highway, the entire area was water-logged.
