'Govt's achievements will help us'
DH News Service, Kolar:
The JD (S) - BJP coalition government lead by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has implemented various pro-people policies in the State.

The party should be prepared to face elections, keeping these policies and projects in mind, said former minister B B Ningappa.

Addressing a meeting of the leaders and workers of Janata Dal (Secular), as a party observer with regards to elections to local bodies here on Wednesday, he called upon the members to face the elections, unitedly.

Mr Ningappa said, the chief minister had a lot of concern for the welfare of the poor, dalits, farmers and the downtrodden.

He had implemented various projects and schemes for their benefit. Distribution of cycle, village-stay programme, janata darshan and several such pro-people programmes are being implemented by him.

There could be differences of opinion among the members of the party. However, this should not come in the way of the elections.

The prime focus should be on making an eligible candidate contest for elections.

There should be organised efforts on everybody’s behalf and strive to ensure that the party candidate won the elections.

Speaking on the occasion, District Co-operative Union President and JD (S) leader Byalahalli M Govindegowda said, party was important than an individual.

Every individual should strive towards the success of the party. Only those persons who did not believe in the ideals of the party, deserted the party. However, the other members should be deterred by this.

In all the 35 wards of Kolar City, suitable candidates should be made to contest so that victory would be assured, he added.

JD (S) Minorities Wing President Mubarak said, infact, each leader should be given the responsibility of two wards and the candidates should also be made responsible to win from two constituencies.

B Suresh Gowda of JD (S) Students’ Wing stated that they had been actively involved in fighting for the rights of the students. They also wanted an opportunity to be represented in the local bodies.

Observers R Damodar Naidu, M Ramappa, V Somanna, Lilly Mary Bhagyanadan, Ashok Nidagal, Satyanarayan, JD (S) leaders G Ramaraju, M Bhaktavatsalam, K B Gopalkrishna, K C Shankaregowda, Anand, Purahalli Shrinivas, Ramesh and others were present in the meeting.
