HUSTLE AND BUSTLE OF ELECTIONS
Political parties busy luring voters
DH News Service, Malur:
As elections for local bodies approach nearer, various political parties have started luring the voters by offering various things.

These parties have various offers to the voters according to the voters’ line of interests. While they lure the house wives of cookers, nose rings and other such items, they have been tempting the youth with modern gadgets such as mobile phones and others.

For those who are deeply religious, they have a package tour to religious places such as Dharmasthala, Tirupathi too!

MLA S N Krishnaiah Shetty has been making his best attempts to make the BJP win in the coming Town Municipal elections. However, now the BJP stands first in convincing the voters.

here has been already the distribution of cookers to house wives by BJP, also arrangements are made by the party to ply nearly eight to ten buses for religious places.

The party had distributed cement sheets and cement to hundreds of houses, in the last elections, but the package tour to religious places is quite a new gimmick this time.

Meanwhile, the popularity of MLA S N Krishnaiah Shetty and BJP has turned out a headache to the Congress, despite its efforts to lure the voters by distributing mobile phones and other things.

However the JD(S), which had been in its bad times, is now on its way to revive the party activities, in a hope to win the election. Some JD(S) party members who had joined S N Krishnaiah’s party (BJP), have now returned to JD(S), after a misunderstanding with Krishnaiah Shetty, which has further revived the activities of the party.

There has been a queuing up to contest the elections from BJP now in the taluk as money flow is not at all a matter of great importance to the party since they believe in Mr Krishnaiah Shetty!

Factionalism feared
Factionalism may erupt in the party as hundreds of people are now on their toes to join BJP. Thus there has been much demand in the taluk to join BJP.

Congress also cannot escape from Factionalism as rifts can be expected between the youth who have recently joined the party and the good old political leaders.

Many JD(S) activists are also making their efforts to make the dissatisfied BJP members join their party.
However, amidst all these quarrels between various political parties reaching to its peak and who are ready to spend crores of rupees on the voters, the voters are the one who are making use of the situation to their maximum benefit.
