Farmers told to adopt modern technology

 Town Municipal and District In-charge Minister Alangur Srinivas called on the farmers to adopt modern technologies in Sericulture and earn greater benefits.

Speaking after inaugurating the district Sericulture growers and weavers group meeting recently, he assured the farmers to solve their problems by holding a discussion at the government level.

The Minister also assured of providing basic facilities such as road facility and repair of equipments at Kolar Sericulture Market.

Sericulture growers association president H K Dyaveerappa requested the Minister to amend the Sericulture act. He also demanded to release Rs 13.25 crore for the development of Sericulture in the district.

Sericulture Weavers association president Shabir Pasha urged the government to release Rs 40 lakh from the government.

District co-operative Union President Byalahalli M Govindagowda, Sericulture deputy director Dr K B Shantha Murthy, Sericulture Growers association president P H Venkatesh and others were present.
