As a part of nationwide Shree Rama Sethu Rakshana Andholan backed by BJP and Sangha Parivar organisations, rastha roko was held in many parts of the City on Wednesday.

Members of Shri Rama Sethu Samrakshana Samiti along with BJP and other organisastions held rastha roko at over seven places across the City from 8 am to 11 am.

Over 1,500 people gathered at the rastha roko held at Jyothi, Pumpwell cricle, Thokottu, Adyar, Nantoor, Kottara Chowki and Kodialbail.

BJP District unit President Monappa Bhandary said that the andolan was held in the City peacefully without any untoward incidents. However, he said that a minor cold war broke out between the police and the protestors near PVS.

Though it was said that no vehicles will ply on Wednesday, the traffic in the Mangalore City was normal as usual.
