Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) of India, DK district unit, will hold a regional conference as part of its silver jubilee year celebration at Nehru Maidan on November 25, informed convention state co-ordinator Shaukat Ali K.

Speaking at a press conference organised on Tuesday, he said the regional conference on ‘Redefining education in the 25th year of SIO’s existence and rebuilding society’, delegates from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kodagu, Uttara Kannada and Chikmagalur districts will participate.

The conference aims at triggering a discussion on the present state of education system, to create awareness among students about social responsibilities and moral values and to inspire volunteers to work with enthusiasm.

Various programmes will be organised in the district in preparation of the convention including district-level conventions, seminars, press meets, students’ meet, bicycle rally, signature campaign and others, Mr Ali added
