Ramzan to start from Friday
The holy month of Ramzan will commence from Friday, reports PTI from New Delhi.
“The new moon of Ramzan was not sighted today (Wednesday). Hence, Ramzan will start from Friday,” Mufti Mukarram, Shahi Imam of Shahi Masjid Fatehpuri said in a statement.
Muslims fast throughout the holy month which culminates in the Id celebrations. 
Bucket scare in TN airport
A sealed plastic bucket found abandoned at the main entrance of the Meenambakkam airport created panic on Wednesday, as the authorities sounded an alert and sealed all entry and exit points, reports PTI from Chennai. Bomb disposal squad of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security was pressed into service to remove the bucket.
Awards for Pawar, Chiddu 
Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and Finance Minister P Chidambaram are among four MPs chosen for the outstanding parliamentarian awards that will be presented by President Pratibha Patil on Thursday, reports IANS from New Delhi.
A selection committee headed by Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee has chosen the four for their performance during 2003-2006.
