Zimbabwe pull off stunning victory
Brendan Taylor played a superb unbeaten knock of 60 as Zimbabwe shocked Australia in their opening match of the Twenty20 World Cup here on Wednesday night.
Indias opener against Scotland
Chance for youngsters to impress
From the warm stillness of Johannesburg to the gusting humidity of Durban made for a striking contrast. It was, perhaps, symbolic of the long road ahead of a young, new-look Indian team.
Pak brush aside Scots in opener
It wasn't a win that came as easily as Pakistan might have expected, but the 1992 World Cup winners braced up for Friday's big one against India with an efficient, workmanlike victory over Scotland at Kingsmead on Wednesday.
Skipper Dhoni keen to bat first
In his first pre-match press conference as the Indian captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni chose to play his cards close to his chest, refraining from even naming a 12 for Wednesday's Twenty20 World Cup tie against Scotland.
A challenge, says Uthappa
Robin Uthappa has never been short on confidence, but after his match-winning exploits at The Oval earlier this month, the 21-year-old would appear to have gotten a lot more assured and composed.

    will they or won't they
The power game in Karnataka is headed for a climax. In October, the credibility of JD(S) will be put to test when it has to hand over power to BJP. Will the JD(S) do so? If yes, will B S Yediyurappa become the chief minister?

Deccan Herald invited readers to send in their predictions. Many argued that JD(S) would hand over the baton to BJP, but it would still be advantageous to JD(S) in the new dispensation.

Others were sure that BJP won’t gain power but will win public sympathy.
