Govt to withdraw objectionable parts of Ram Setu affidavit
After a quick intervention by Congress President Sonia Gandhi in a damage-control exercise, Law Minister H R Bhardwaj announced at a hurriedly-called press conference that the averments in the objectionable paragraphs will be withdrawn.

World identifies India with Gandhi, Taj, poverty: BBC survey
When they think of India, people think of Gandhi and Taj Mahal, whereas when they think of Pakistan they think of nuclear power, poverty and cricket, the survey conducted by BBC says.
Interestingly, where French, Spaniards, Italians and Danes thought India topped in poverty on the planet.
Their Eastern counterparts Singaporeans, Japanese and Hong Kong nationals thought India to be a modern nation, high on development and technology.
British, Americans and Australians also voted in favour of India for its Bollywood, cricket and outsourcing industry.

    The power game in Karnataka is headed for a climax. In October, the credibility of JD(S) will be put to test when it has to hand over power to BJP. Will the JD(S) do so? If yes, will B S Yediyurappa become the chief minister?
