The charges for internet browsing ranges from Rs 10 per day to Rs 99 for month, with unlimited net surfing and unlimited downloads.
The multimedia enriched sleek handset is priced at Rs 5,449, and has several features such as 0.3 MP camera, MP3, speaker phone, FM radio and expandable memory.
Easy plan offer
Under the initial easy plan offer a customer can select appropriate voice package along with internet starter pack.
For pack of Rs 10, the user will get an unlimited access to internet for a day, for Rs 30 pack access for 7 days and for pack of Rs 99, unlimited access for 30 days. No other usage charges will be levied for internet access, the company said.
The facility is available for both pre-paid and post-paid customers. “The Tata Indicom mobile web browser, powered by Novarra Inc, are optimised so as to display internet content most effectively,” said Manzoor Ameen, Circle Operating Officer, Tata Tele, Karnataka Circle. “
The new service is much faster than GPRS and is offering a down load speed of 30 - 40 kbps,” Mr Ameen added.
Samsung mulls CDMA sets
Kolkata, DHNS: Samsung India is mulling to unveil medium and high-end CDMA handsets that will provide internet access three to four times faster than existing GPRS device, Samsung CDMA Head Hyunbai Kim said here on Thursday.
Indications are that the Korean telecom giant might be testing waters when it collaborated with Tata Indicom to launch the sleek multiple-featured CDMA handset.
