Teacher aspirants sore over staff 'rude' behaviour
DH News Service, Gulbarga:
Candidates who had come from various parts of Gulbarga division to submit their applications for the posts of assistant teachers of high schools on Thursday took strong exception to the rude behaviour of officials of the recruitment authority.

The candidates, who were standing in long queues under the scorching sun before the authority here, were upset over the authorities receiving application from candidates inside the room by ignoring them. Some of the candidates managed to jump the queue and would clandestinely submit their applications with the authorities receiving them apparently on extraneous considerations.

Frustrated candidates took the officials to task resulting in ugly verbal exchanges. With September 17, the last date for submitting applications, approaching fast the rush of candidates is increasing every day. There was no regulation of the queue nor was there any discipline. It was clearly visible that some officials of the recruitment authority were favouring a selected few.

Confusion
Though counters have been opened at Government Practicing School for receiving applications confusion prevailed as candidates coming from different districts were in the dark about which counter would receive applications.

The candidates are required to go to the Practicing School counters after due verification of their documents at the office of the education commissioner. However, officials of the department did not co-operate with the candidates and were seen indulging in favouritism only to a selected few inviting wrath from others.

The counters were closed during lunch hour forcing candidates to stand in queue for hours.
