Addressing press persons here on Thursday, he said everybody had freedom, and if anybody organised the Bandaya Sammelan he would take part in that.
“It was me who set a base for Bandaya Sahitya Sammelan. If somebody wants to continue the tradition, there is no way other than supporting it,” he said.
But, he said, the Bandaya Sammelans should have ideological parameters but not evil purposes. Sammelans should be held in more numbers for the good will of the society, he said.
As the president of Sahitya Parishat, I am not satisfied. I have the vigour of doing much more works. But for those who have ridiculed me of doing ‘zero’ achievements, I will give proper information on the last day of my term, Dr Champa said.
‘No confusion’
Seminars of various topics will be held during the Sammelan to be held from October 25 to 28. There is no home for confusions. “But if there are problems, I am ready to manage them,” he said.
Dr Champa said the Sammelan will be free of politics. Politicians will be involved only during inevitable occasions.
The Reception Committee of Udupi Sahitya Sammelan has decided to conduct a conference free of politics, he added.
Significant litterateurs and award winners from across the State are being invited for the Sammelan.
Inauguration of the conference will be held after the procession. Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade will inaugurate. Dignitaries of various fields will be honoured on the day.
A total of 26 sessions, including a separate one for women, will be conducted in four days.
Only three resource persons will participate in each session, while four scholars can react to the presentations.
There will be kavigoshti and hanigavana goshti also, which provide forum to 30 to 35 poets, Dr Champa explained.
Sahitya Sammrlan General Secretary Uppunda Chandrashekhar Holla, Secretaries Gananath Ekkaru and Arun Kumar were present.
