The Mangalore branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organised a national seminar on ‘Fiscal and Allied laws’ in Mangalore on September 7 and 8.
According to a press release, the seminar was inaugurated by the SIRC Chairman K S Madhavamurthy while Vice President of the Corporate Internal Audit of Wipro in Bangalore V S Padmanabhan delivered the keynote address.
In his address, Mr Padmanabhan stressed the need for ensuring corporate governance in the Indian corporate world. Chairman of Fiscal Laws Committee of the institute G Ramaswamy and Central Council member K Raghu were present on the occasion.
President of the ICAI Sunil Talati in his address later dwelt upon the professional opportunities that are emerging in the country in the changing industrial scenario.
He called upon the members to sharpen their skills and embrace the latest technologies and stand up to the expectations of the industry, trade and commerce. He also released the E-Souvenir brought out by the Mangalore branch.
As many as 320 delegates from various parts of the country participated in the seminar, the release added.
