BUZZ IN BANGALORE

Classical concert from Quarter
The Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan, in association with the Bangalore School of Music is organsing a concert by the Signum Quartett from Germany. It comprises Kerstin Dill (violin), Annette Walther (violin), Simon Tandree (viola) and Thomas Schmitz (cello).

The concert will be held on September 19 at 6.30 pm at Max Mueller Bhavan. For further details and programme call (2520 5305/6/7/8) or the Bangalore School of Music (4125 3208).

The programme for the concert in Bangalore will include pieces by Ernst-Lothar von Knorr, Anton Webern, Jorg Widmann and Robert Schumann. In addition to several other awards, the Signum Quartett won the German music competition in 2004 as well as the special Zonta International award.

 Besides presenting the concert at MMB, the Quartet will conduct a workshop for senior musicians of the Bangalore School of Music on September 18.

Gospel music
The Music Hub, a new venture by a committed team focusing towards the promotion of artists, workshops and bands is organising a concert of Gospel music on September 15 at 6 pm at Guru Nanak Bhavan. The performing bands are Armageddon (from Chennai), Slain (Bangalore), Zion (Bangalore) and Unstrung (from Bangalore SABC college). Entry with donation passes and invites only.  Annual awards
Kensri School invites applicants for their annual project award instituted for students from class 4 to 12. The winners will be awarded prizes under Kensri School’s Project Oriented Work for Enterprise or Research (POWER).
This is an event held annually every October and is intended for the all round qualitative development of a child’s personality. A synoptic note, No Objection Certificate, nominations and entry form need to be sent either by email to kensris@yahoo.co.in or by postal mail to the school at 1348/444A, Maria Street, Mariyannapalya, BangaIore-24 on or before 28th September.
