On a complaint filed by a junior engineer against her boss Ramakrishna Reddy, depot manager, KR Puram, BMTC, the Corporation found prima facie evidence against Reddy and suspended him, pending inquiry.
She also filed a complaint with the State Women’s Commission Chairperson Pramila Nesargi.
Complaint
“The complainant reportedly approached him last week with a request for a week’s holiday. After he sanctioned her leave, he asked her to come with him for an ‘official training programme’ in Pune and told her to meet him at the bus stand,” said Ms Nesargi.
“She informed her husband, who borrowed Rs 4,000 from his friends to give to his wife for her ‘tour’ and asked his brother to drop her to the bus stand. When she reached there she didn’t find any of her colleagues except him. When she asked Reddy about others, he reportedly told her that they had already left in the previous bus. She boarded the bus with him. But when it reached Pune, he didn’t get down. He told her that the programme has been shifted to Mumbai and that they have to go there,” she added.
“On reaching Mumbai, Reddy said the programme is being held at a guest house. On hearing this, she became suspicious.
She also saw him speaking to some strangers. By then, this lady had realised that Reddy’s intentions were not honest. She escaped from there, boarded an auto rickshaw and went immediately to the airport.
There one lady by the name of Shalini saw her crying. When she approached her, she told Shalini the entire story. Shalini bought her an air ticket to Bangalore and she returned on Sunday night,” said Ms Nesargi.
On Monday, the lady filed a complaint with the BMTC. Prima facie they found Reddy guilty and suspended him. Meanwhile, Ms Nesargi has requested the KR Puram police to arrest Reddy.
