Police and forest department officials on Thursda launched a hunt for leopard after pug marks of the beast were found inside Layola school premises.
Officials could not trace the animal.
They suspect it could be hiding in the thick green cover around the school.
Officials feel the leopard must have strayed from Bannerghatta National Park in search of prey.
