A lot is brewing in the City’s gourmet section. This time it’s coffee lounge ‘Mocha— Coffees and Conversations’, that has made space on Bangalore’s foodscape. The non-alcoholic coffee lounge opened it’s doors with a launch party that saw models and socialites like Harathi Reddy, Mithun, Ranjeet Sundarmurthy, Prasad Bidapa and Laila Barker brewing up some late-night coffee conversations.
Situated in a heritage bungalow on Lavelle Road, the coffee bar is adept with all features to be a great hang-out for the coffee connoisseurs of Bangalore. The yellow and pink Balinese interiors ooze Moroccan appeal with a dash of Mediterranean, glimpses of Polynesian and Brazil. One can either sit under the shack or relax on a couch in the Red room or Machan for a more intimate indoor experience. The attenders, dressed in the traditional Turkish Moroccan burgundy waistcoat and the Fez hat, adds to the ambience.
Apt to it’s name, Mocha claims to be the only coffee lounge in India to offer 19 different gourmet coffeebeans imported from Jamaica, Guatemala, Hawaii, Kenya and Ethiopia. Sip on some piping hot coffee or indulge in some of the trademark chocolate shakes like the Lindt, Toblerone, Kit Kat, Snicker Bar or the most popular Oreo cookie and fudge brownie shake.
One also cannot miss the fruit-flavoured Sheeshas or Hookahs — a concept from Cairo pioneered by Mocha into India. This is an indulgence one must try. Apart from coffees and desserts, the Mocha menu also serves small bites like the Italian panini, French poutines and Tapas to snack on.
This is not all. Like many other high-end lifestyle restaurants, Mocha too will dedicate it’s walls to the artworks of upcoming artists. Products like crockery, furniture, jewellery, hookahs, cigars and music can also be bought, if retail therapy is what one’s looking at.
This is the first outlet of Mocha in Bangalore. One cannot help but reminisce the imposing Mocha experience in cities like Mumbai and Chennai.
Nevertheless, the multi-cultural coffee experience in Bangalore cannot be given a miss.
