According to a press release, Osteoporosis is a bone disease where the bone becomes thin and fragile leading to fracture.  The disease occurs when either the body fails to form enough new bone or too much of the old bone is destroyed or both. 
The Symptoms of the disease are backache, bone pains, previous History of fractures, fractures with minor fall and so on.
Chief Operating Officer of KMC Hospitals in Mangalore, Dr Sunil Deshpande said that the test is conducted to enable the patients choose the preventive and protective care, there by remaining healthy, and avoiding Osteoporosis, Osteopenia and such bone disorders and diseases.
