HQA Akram Pasha has informed that the Block Education Officers of all the three Taluks will be informed to take actions to see to it that the robbery of domestic gas cylinders under Akshara Dasoha that has been occurring repeatedly do not take place in future.
Addressing the Food Adalat at Deputy Commissioner’s office, he said that due to such robberies, the food served under Akshara Dasoha are being prepared using traditional fuel. He said that the district administration will introduce the system of numbering the gas cylinders for security purposes.
He suggested that arrangements could be made to store the cylinders at the residence of the  School Development Monitoring Committee President or any prominent person of the village so that it could be used as per necessity.
“If cylinder robbery cases occur in future, the head teacher and the SDMC presidents will be directly held responsible,” he said and added that a request letter will be written to the police department from the Deputy Commissioner’s office demanding for necessary security in this regard. Mr Pasha  said that the G-9 cards have been printed and will be distributed to the beneficiaries after the local body elections. He said that about five fare price shops in Madikeri town, 11 in rural, 24 in Virajpete and 9 in Somwarpete were inspected. Four domestic gas cylinders were seized from two canteens and one coffee powder shop in Kodlipete in Somwarpete.
