The district administration is preparing a detailed report regarding the damages caused by rain. The compensation process to those who have lost their properties will begun shortly.
Damages has been extensively reported in Tumkur City and the surrounding areas, including Madhugiri sub-division, according to preliminary reports. So far, five houses have been damaged in Tumkur City. Last week, a total of 160 houses have been damaged. In the taluk areas, more than 300 houses have been damaged, due to heavy rain.
Jayamangali river, one of the important and yet a small river, which had been totally dried up, for last eight years, has now sprung back to life. People are happy that it is once again flowing to full brim. Most of the tanks and ponds in Madhugiri taluk are full and the Cholenahalli kere is full, within a night’s rainfall. This river supplies drinking water to Madhugiri town.
