Forget the fictional super heroes like Superman, Mandrake, Phantom, Tarzan et al, new comic strips will soon hit the stands, casting Baba Ramdev as a yoga superhero.
After inspiring people around the globe, yoga guru Baba Ramdev is now set to catch the fancy of youngsters through these comic strips both in Hindi and in English.
Already, scores of publishers have approached Baba Ramdev’s Haridwar-based Divyayog Ashram for bringing out new comic strips.
“Baba Ramdevji will be appearing on cartoon comics within one month’s time, teaching yoga,” said Acharya.
Ramdev returned to Haridwar last week, after his tour to western nations including US, where he studied the popularity of comic strips.
“Our aim is to make yoga popular and easily understandable, especially to the younger generation that is inclined to western lifestyle,” said Acharya, who is believed to be the mastermind of the comic strip. Patna-based artist — Suman Prasad Mehta has been roped in to create the cartoon strips of Baba Ramdev. The books will hit the market by October-November, Acharya said.
Initially, the cartoons series will be in five parts — Pranayam-I, Pranayam-II, Yogasan, Pranayam-Sahyogi Asan and Samanya Khanpaan Aur Pranayam.
“We will be telling the readers about the importance of yoga with a detailed history,” said Acharya.
