“For more than 30 years, we have been living in this locality, but there is not a single tap to supply drinking water here,” said Krishnaveni, a resident. For a family of six, she purchases six pots of drinking water once in two days.
Residents get non-potable water from two tanks. For drinking water, they depend on people of the near-by Nayandahalli. “We have to beg residents of Nayandahalli. They get Cauvery water once in two days. We go with pots and request them. They charge us Rs 2 per pot,” she said.
