The responsibility of brightening the lives of the students lies on the teaching fraternity. They have the power to take a civilisation to its zenith, through the literacy revolution.
However, they require some amount of freedom in punishing the students in order to turn them into better individuals, opined Kendra Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Prof Chandrashekar Patil.
He was speaking at the felicitation programme of Rajyotsava awardee writer K Byrappa, that was organised at the Betarayaswamy Kalyana Mantap in Turuvekere.
Also, speaking on the same occasion noted film director Nagathihalli Chandrashekar said that the soldier, farmer and teacher are the three most important pillars of our society.
The society should pay their due respect to these three fraternity. Teachers are the ambassadors of education, language and environment.
Moreover, in the present globalised scenario one needs to have a sharp mind. All these qualities can be found in the writer K Byrappa. K Byrappa and his wife Jayalakshmi were felicitated at the function.
Speaking on the occasion K Byrappa said that brain drain and suppressing of talent should be prevented. The fame of expanding the activities of the sahitya parishat to the hobli level goes to Champa, he added.
Also, present at the felicitation programme were Mr Byrappa’s teacher N S Somashekar and R Mallikarjun and others.
