IN MAHAMAYEE TEMPLE
Guidelines for idol immersion
DH News Service,Mangalore:

Shri Mahamayee Temple Car street Administrative Board has urged the devotees to take additional care while Ganapathy idol immersion. Huge number of devotees assemble near the temple lake for immersion and hence additional care is required this year as the water level of the lake is high due to excess rainfall.

A press release from the Board has informed that the water level in the lake is high and hence the devotees must immerse their respective idols from west to east standing on the steps that have been built around the temple lake and avoid stepping deeper into the water as the surface of the stones under the water are slippery, which can be a cause for mishaps.

To maintain cleanliness of the water, the board has also requested the devotees to avoid immersing the idol with flower garlands apart from ‘Tulasi male.’ The devotees are required to inform the temple authorities two days prior to the immersion and receive the receipt and produce the same on the day of the immersion.
