Two boys drowned at Biluvala village in Kadur.  According to police, the deceased have been identified as Rakesh (10) and Maruthi (6). The villagers had immersed the idol of Gowrammadevi. The duo stepped into the water with a curiosity to know whether the idol has been immersed properly.   Since the water was full in the pond, they got drowned. A case has been registered.

Rs 3 lakh worth   spirit seized
Udupi, dhns:  Udupi DCIB  have seized spirit worth 3 lakh at Murukai in Kundapur Taluk on Monday. The spirit was being transported to the district from Gujarat. A total of 10 thousand litre spirit was seized. Acting on a tip off police intercepted a tanker. The tanker has been seized and is kept in Udupi Taluk office premises. However, the two drivers escaped. T A case has been registered. Further investigation is on.
