Besides the new engine, the bike also boasts of other features including folding number plate, a special drive chain cover with built-in noise damping, full DC electrical system for constant illumination and an attractive headlamp with two prismatic pilot lamps.
The new bike also has added features, present only in some selected top end 150 cc bikes, including digital speedometer, LED tail lamp and zero maintenance non-contact wheel speed sensors.
At 109 kmpl, XCD 125 DTS-Si offers fuel-efficiency which has been achieved through Digital Twin Spark Swirl Induction technology, National Sales Manager Vimal Sumbly told reporters here.
Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL), on Tuesday, announced its foray into the scooter segment with the launch of mid-sized gearless scooter ‘Access 125’ here.
Powered by 125cc air cooled 4-stroke engine, Access 125 comes with automatic transmission and gives a mileage of 65 kms/litre, the company claimed.
Sporty look
The scooter wears a sporty look with host of features including Xtra Torque Performance (XTP) for more power and faster pick up, telescopic front fork suspension for comfortable riding, large size underseat compartment, centralised ignition key switch with shutter, multi-reflector head lamp with halogen bulb for brighter vision, etc.
The company refused to divulge the price tag. Industry experts opine the scooter will cost around Rs 40,000. The scooter would hit the market in the first week of October.
