But what, exactly, is atomic energy?According to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, present Incarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba, atomic energy is as old as the stars.  He says, "All the objects in the universe are made up of atoms.  The atom is the embodiment of the Spirit (Atma). 
Hence, there is no place in the universe without the Atma or Brahman." Isn't it interesting, therefore, that some of us actually believe we can own certain parts of divinity, claim it for ourselves, harness it and use it to blow our enemies to smithereens?
Does the moon belong to anyone but God, for instance?
Puttaparthi Sai points out, "The field of science has taken about a thousand years to prove the fact that the atom is present all over the world.  But thousands of years ago, Prahlada, a little boy, could know and reveal the mystery of an atom.  The teaching of Prahlada is this-that the divine principle is present right from the microcosmic atom and spread to the macroscopic universe.  It is also the same teaching of the Bhagavad Gita."Men and women are so quick to announce their achievements, but so slow to discover their shortcomings and generally even slower to acknowledge them.  But more tragic, maybe, is that most humans continue to be blind to their own divine reflections when they l9ook into the mirror.  If we are incapable of knowing who we really are, how then can we recognize the true identity of our family, friends and enemies as well?
The Poorna Avatar replies, "If one has faith that the Lord is present in the atom, one will have a vision of the Lord even in the atom.  But if you make a distinction between different objects, treat some as pure and others as impure, you will not get the vision.  Till the realization that everything is permeated by God comes to one, he must worship an idol as a sacred symbol."A little boy could see what adults could not.  Swami Sai notes, "What Prahlada declared millennia ago, the scientists of today are discovering, namely, that energy that is present in the all-pervading atom is divine."
Believing this, then no one could ever be separated from God!  However, some people have more faith in mutual funds than they do in their own singular intuition.
"Atomic energy is present everywhere," Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai reiterates.  "It is only when the true character of the atomic power is understood that the power of the Divine can also be understood."So, the next time you're stuck in traffic or waiting in the railway ticket line, think about where you really are.
 Think about it deeply.  Recognizing that you're in a sea of God energy might not get you to your destination faster, but your journey might be much more fun.
