Heavy rains lashed Tarikere on Monday night. Owing to the collapse of a bund constructed across Ramanaykana kere in Galihalli Cross, water from the stream entered the houses in the vicinity.
Flaying the local administration for having unable to rectify the problem for the past few years, the villagers staged protest.
They took out procession on NH 206.
Addressing the gathering, Mohankumar said “Ramanaykana kere is always a problem for the villagers. Every year, water enters the houses.”
Tahsildar Jayamadhavi received memorandum and assured to solve the problem at the earliest.
