Developmental works costing around Rs three and a half crore have been taken up in the town after Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s visit, said MLA Timmarayappa here.
Speaking to reporters, Mr Timmarayappa said that while some had already been taken up, other works would begin soon.
Giving details, the MLA said that a concrete floor had been laid at the bus stand at a cost of Rs 30 lakh. The Sira Road has also been asphalted with concrete at a cost of Rs 75 lakh.
In the same way, works ranging between Rs eight and 10 lakh have been taken up in each of the 23 wards, the legislator stated.
Continuing, he said that a transport depot had been tendered to Pavagada town at a cost of Rs one and a half crore.
Further, 15,000 houses will be built under the ‘Gudisalu Rahita Yojane’. Several colleges and high schools have been sanctioned, the MLA listed out.
Mr Timmarayappa however did not fail to ‘point out’ that all the problems faced by the town were gifted by the Congress!
To support his claim, the MLA said that only Congress had the experience and habit to make works of inferior quality and the townspeople were witness to the quality of the works. He then termed similar allegations regarding the present works as ‘being far from the truth’.
Mr Timmarayappa was confident that the public would vote the JD (S), which was contesting in all seats, to power. Dr Venkataramaiah, R C Anjanappa, Manam Venkataswamy, K R Pandurangappa, N Timmareddy, Shankar Reddy and V Venkatesh and others were present.
