Humpy eyes world crown
Grandmaster Koneru Humpy said she has set her eyes on winning next year’s Women’s World Chess Championship.
“My main opponents are going to be Alexandra Kostenvik of Russia, Xu Yuhua and Zhu Chen of China and Stefanova of Bulgaria in the tournament,” the Grandmaster was quoted as saying.
New coach by Sep 27: Shah
The new India coach would be selected by September 27, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Niranjan Shah said, reports UNI from Mumbai.
Speaking to mediapersons after the selection committee meeting on Tuesday Shah said they had asked interested candidates to submit their applications to the BCCI by September 15.
Mahindra go down to Nejmeh
Mahindra United failed to capitalise on their chances and went down 1-2 against Lebanon’s Al Nejmeh club in the first leg of the AFC Cup quarterfinal at the Ambedkar Stadium, reports PTI from New Delhi.

Cricket set for Games debut
Twenty20 cricket, along with Dance Sport, Dragon Boat race, Roller sport and the ancient Chinese board game of Weiqi, will make their debut when Guangzhou hosts the 16th Asian Games in 2010, reports PTI from New Delhi.
An estimated 14,000 athletes and officials would converge in the Chinese city to take part in the sporting extravaganza that would host 42 events Fang Daer, Marketing Director of the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee, said.

Murali in for England series
