The High Court on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of the founder of Akila Bharata Janajagruthi Federation, Mysore, and dalit leader Mante Lingaiah, who is facing murder charges.
He has been arrested for allegedly brutally murdering one Gangamma in Mysore two years ago. He had moved the bail application on health grounds. But doctors at the Victoria Hospital after examining his health condition had reported that he does not need any special treatment.
Permission denied
The High Court on Wednesday ordered the Mangalore City Corporation not to give permission for the construction of buildings that are against the bylaws.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph and Justice Anand Birareddy gave the order based on a public interest litigation filed by the Magalore Citizens’ Forum.
The Forum had questioned a notification that stated that zonal regulations were relavent and not the bylaws. It had contended that several high-rises were coming up in violation of building bylaws.
