KSRTC is taking necessary steps to provide bus service to every village, said Transport Minister Cheluvarayaswamy here on Tuesday.
He was speaking at a function organised by the Mandya District Private Bus Owners Association, to felicitate people’s representatives from the district.
“Though KSRTC is facing losses from the rural bus services, it wants to extend its services to every village, in the interest of the people, he said. To improve bus service in Mysore City, KSRTC is introducing 300 new buses in the coming days, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA D C Thammanna urged the KSRTC to provide bus services to about 50 villages in every Assembly segment, where there are at present none.
Apart from Cheluvarayaswamy and Thammanna, H B Ramu, M Srinivas, K T Srikantegowda, S M Shankar, K Annadani, D S Veeraiah and Vijayalakshamma were felicitated at the function. Association President A H Narayanan presided over the function.
