Western Ghat natural calamity victims withdrew their indefinite strike following an assurances by the officials on Wednesday.

Horata Samithi convenor said “we will intensify our protest if the government fails to respond to our problems after the study committee submits its report by October 10.” 

Chikmagalur Divisional Officer Dayanad visited the spot and said that government has appointed a study committee under Revenue department Principal Secretary Jaamdar to assess the damages due to heavy rainfall. The committee will submit a report to the government.
