The candidates who are contesting on a BJP ticket for the forthcoming town municipal council elections took a oath before the canvassing for the elections began.
At a simple function held at the village temple the candidates took the oath before the deity Kempamma devi. The oath was taken before MP S Mallikarjunaiah, district general secretary B C Nagesh, taluk president M N Kantharaj and other leaders. Whether the candidates win or lose the election they should follow the principles of the party and work for the all round development with heart and soul.
The candidates said that they would make all effort to fulfill the wishes of the voters and take up the works with all sincerity and try to bring credit to the state and the country, they said while taking the oath.
The leaders also wished that the TMC would be wrested by the BJP.
City BJP president M P Prasannakumar, secretary Sirigandaguru, SC/ST Morcha president Gangaraj and the candidates took the oath. Later, they went on a door-to-door canvassing seek votes.
